RAHA1 A MATTER OF THE HEART

I remember the statement “you can’t get anything in a closed fist”. That gave me a picture where if you want something you have to open your hand. Then I remember the story about a monkey who stuck his hand in a jar and grabbed a peanut.

Sounds simple enough except his hand would not come out of the hole in the jar unless he let go of the peanut. I believe the story ends with him dying because he would not let go.

Someone reading this may be holding on to something that’s killing you.

Both emotional and physical areas can take away our joy and peace. Maybe it’s a title or position. We even hold on to tangible items so long until they become our treasure. But I have found out you can let go. With God all things are possible and he gives you peace.

The word of God tells us in Matt 6:19 Lay not up for yourselves treasures upon earth, where moth and rust doth corrupt, and where thieves break through and steal: 20 But lay up for yourselves treasures in heaven, where neither moth nor rust doth corrupt, and where thieves do not break through nor steal: 21 For where your treasure is, there will your heart be also.

Open your heart to the word of God and let go.
